D-Day Squadron Legacy Tour 2024

On Saturday the 22nd of June a leg of this annual event was held at out airport. We witnessed many international flight crews, who landed with their vintage aircraft: AN-2, CA-3, SPAD, P166, P149, BRISTELL, VIPER, L19 among other. A bunch of pilots from the Czeck Republic has also landed, their intention was to honor General Milan Rastislav Stefanik, whom took off in May 1919 from Campoformido (Udine) with an CA-3 but tragically crashed near Bratislava together with two more Italian pilots, Colonel Giotto Macinelli Scotti and Sergeant Umberto Merlino, and radio-mechanical engineer Gabriel Aggiusto, all losing their lives.
