The work L’Uomo della Sindone (The Man of the Shroud) by Vigonovese sculptor Sergio Rodella is on display at the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, where it will remain until Christmas as part of the exhibition “Art, Science, and Faith,” alongside Albano Poli’s Cross of Hope.
This is the first time that the work has been exhibited internationally without its author, who passed away in 2022, but its expressive power continues to speak to the heart of the world. Three-dimensional and powerful, it was created from a rigorous study of the Shroud of Turin, blending art, spirituality, and science into a unique and exciting work.
The event reached its climax thanks to the extraordinary presence of the Aero L-29 Delfín. The jet, an icon of military aviation history, designed in Czechoslovakia, was the main training aircraft of the Warsaw Pact countries from the 1960s to the 1980s.
